# Chat History

> Resuming and managing past conversations

# Chat History

Oystack automatically saves your conversations so you can return to them later.

## Finding Past Chats

1. Look at the **Sidebar** to the left of the main chat window.
2. Conversations are typically sorted chronologically (e.g., Today, Previous 7 Days).
3. Click on any past conversation to reopen it.
4. You can pick up right where you left off.

## Managing History

Depending on your settings, you may see options to:

* **Rename:** Click the edit icon to give a conversation a more descriptive name.
* **Delete:** Remove a conversation entirely if it is no longer needed.

  Deleting a conversation is permanent. If you delete a thread, all associated
  branched conversations branching off it will also be deleted.
