Chat Basics

The Oystack chat interface is where you turn source material into usable answers, summaries, and drafts.

Asking Questions

Just type your question or request into the text field at the bottom of the screen and press Enter. Here are a few ways you can use the chat:
  • Summarization: “Summarize the key findings of this report.”
  • Comparison: “Compare the methods used in these two papers.”
  • Evidence Gathering: “List the strongest findings and the caveats for each.”
  • Information Extraction: “Extract all the deadlines mentioned in these documents.”
Be specific about the source set and output you want. Instead of asking “Make this better,” try “Rewrite this paragraph in a more formal research tone and keep the original meaning.”

Using Context

When you chat, Oystack does not need to rely only on general knowledge. It can search your uploaded documents and use them as context for a more grounded answer. If the AI uses a document, it can provide a Source Reference so you can inspect the original evidence before you reuse the claim.
