Branched Conversations

Sometimes a conversation naturally splits into multiple directions. Oystack supports Branched Conversations, allowing you to explore a tangent without messing up your main train of thought.

How to Branch a Chat

  1. Hover over any AI response in the chat thread.
  2. Click the Branch icon (often represented as a branching path or a ‘reply’ arrow).
  3. A new sub-thread will open based specifically on that response.
  4. From here, you can dive deep into that specific topic.

Why Use Branched Conversations?

Branches are excellent for:
  • Deep Dives: The AI mentions a concept you don’t understand. Branch off to ask for an explanation, then return to the main thread to continue the original task.
  • Exploring Alternatives: You asked the AI to draft an email. You can branch twice—once to ask it to make the draft more formal, and once to make it more casual—then compare the two branches.
All branches are saved and accessible later in your Chat History.
