Uploading Documents
Uploading documents is how you turn Oystack into a research workspace built around your own sources.Getting Your Files Ready
- Locate the Upload area (usually found on the main dashboard, sidebar, or specific workspace settings).
- You can drag and drop files directly onto the interface.
- Supported formats include PDF, Word Documents, plain text, and more.
What happens after upload
When you upload a file, Oystack processes it so the AI can search, cite, and reason across it later.- Vectorization: Oystack breaks the document into searchable chunks so it can retrieve relevant evidence quickly.
- Metadata enrichment: Research papers may be enriched with details such as DOI, authors, venue, or related citation data when available.
- Library availability: Once processing completes, the document can be used in research chat, note drafting, and citation workflows.
- Processing Time: Depending on document size, this can take a few moments.
Only files that have finished processing will be available for grounded
retrieval and source-backed answers.
