Oystack provides a contextual Writing Assistant directly inside your drafting workflow so you can improve research writing without leaving the page.

What Does the Writing Assistant Do?

The Writing Assistant is a quick, localized AI tool that works on selected text. Use it when you want to refine a paragraph, tighten wording, expand a point, or clean up a draft before you move on.

Using the Popover

  1. Highlight the text you want to edit.
  2. A small Writing Assistant Popover icon will appear.
  3. Click it to reveal a menu of options, such as:
    • Summarize: Make the text shorter.
    • Expand: Elaborate on the highlighted point.
    • Professionalize: Adjust the tone to be formal.
    • Fix Grammar: Correct any errors.
    • Custom Prompt: Type specifically what you want it to do to the text.
  4. The Assistant will generate a preview inline. You can automatically replace your highlighted text with the suggestion.
This is especially useful for polishing literature reviews, methods sections, reading notes, and technical explanations.
