The Oystack browser extension helps you move papers from the web into your research library without breaking your flow.

Installation

  1. Navigate to your browser’s extension store (e.g., Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons).
  2. Search for “Oystack Companion”.
  3. Click Add to Browser.

Connecting Your Account

Once installed, click the extension icon and follow the prompts to connect it to your Oystack account. This allows the extension to import papers into your library using the same session you already use in the app.

What It Can Do

The browser extension is especially useful when you are reading papers online:
  • Detect DOI pages: Identify papers from DOI links, page metadata, and visible page text.
  • Import in one click: Add a paper to Oystack as soon as you find it.
  • Avoid duplicate work: Check whether the paper is already in your library before importing it again.
  • Keep your library current: Save useful sources while browsing so they are ready for grounded chat later.
The extension may need permission to read page content so it can detect DOI information accurately.
